It is in vain that you rise up early
and go late to rest,
eating the bread of anxious toil;
for he gives to his beloved sleep.
John 3:16 kjv
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16 Starts off with a conversation with a man named Nicodimus a ruler of the jews. He comes to Jesus and says we know thou art a teacher that comes from God for no man can do these miracles except God be with him.
It is then that Jesus begans to explain eternal life!! He answeres him
John 3:3 kjv
Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
John 3.4 “Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?””
John 3.5 “Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.”
John 3.6 “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.”
This conversation brings us to the theme of the entire Bible, for God so loved the world He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
I want to give four words to take with you on today! the first is Danger - Perishing John 3;16 speaks of the current danger that we are in outside of Christ.
all humans beings are in danger of perishing, which is not merely dying but is the opposite of eternal life. Eternal pershing.
People don’t have to believe this we see people perishing everyday.
John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.”
Man’s doubt of this can not change the Revealation that God has given us.
The second word is Design- Love.
The design of God to rescue us from perishing .
Jere 29.11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
3 john 1.2 “Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul.”
You can miss the design! couples ministry, single ministry, youth and young adults, but don’t miss the design!!
you can get lost in the house!! if you fail to see the design, we talk about sin in the church and peoples lives but let’s show them the design!
The design- Living he loved me, Dying He saved me, buried He carried my sins far away, Rising, He justified me freed me forever, one day He’s coming back glorious day!!
The design of God to rescue us from perishing, namely the design of love For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son. It is the love of God giving His Son in incarnation and death that rescues us from perishing.
Romans 5.8 “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
John 15.13 “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.”
you wont find a greater love than this. song writer search all over still couldn’t find anybody.
Thirdly The Duty Of Man
The verse talks about the duty that we must fullfill. The duty is faith, or trust or believing in the Son that God has sent. That whoever believes in Him might not ever perish..
Ecc 12.13 “The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.”
Confess your sins, tell God youre sorry!!
1 john 1.9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Renonouce, Recieve , Remain
2 Corinthians 6:17-18
King James Version
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Then the 4th word is the destiny
The destiny of those who believe eternal life “that whoever beliveves in Him, might not perish but have everlasting life!!
Is. 25:8-9 “He will swallow up death forever; and the Lord God will wipe away tears from all faces, and the reproach of his people he will take away from all the earth, for the Lord has spoken. It will be said on that day, “Behold, this is our God; we have waited for him, that he might save us. This is the Lord; we have waited for him; let us be glad and rejoice in his salvation.””
1 cor 15.51-58 “Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?” The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”
In my Father’s house are many mansions, if it were not so I would have tolld
John 14:1-6 ““Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
